You are met by lodge staff and transfer to the nearby Mfuwe Lodge, located at the entrance to South Luangwa Park and a good introduction to the park and welcome stopover for your first night. This lodge is open year-round and hosts a number of guests in its optimal location. Settle in tonight and rest up from your long journey. Take advantage of the spa services and pool at this larger lodge just on the outskirts of South Luangwa Park.

- Hotel
- 1 Breakfast, 1 Lunch, 1 Dinner
Spend your morning at Mfuwe Lodge and transfer on to a bushcamp located further into South Luangwa National Park. Choose from any of the six more remote camps set along the rivers inside the park. Kuyenda and Zungulila offer more adventurous stays with more traditional and rustic atmosphere, while Chamilandu, Chindeni, Kapamba, and Bilimungwe are a little more sophisticated and modern. Depending on the bushcamp, drive between an hour and 4 hours to arrive to your next safari camp. Settle in for the afternoon or set out on your first safari activity upon your arrival.
Day 3-4: South Luangwa National Park

South Luangwa National Park is largely attributed with being the innovator of walking safaris, and you have ample opportunity to discover why they do it so well here. Spend your days wandering the park and watching wildlife on day or night game drives. South Luangwa National Park supports larger herds of giraffe, populations of elephant, zebra, and cape buffaloes along with healthy populations of crocodile and hippo in the rivers. Enjoy your time in one of the six intimate bushcamps and experience South Luangwa. Add a few nights to visit another one or two bushcamps as you like to extend your Zambia safari.
Day 5: Return Mfuwe Airport
- 1 Breakfast
Return to Mfuwe lodge and transfer back to the Mfuwe international airport for your flight home. If traveling during rainier months, it is advised to add one more night at Mfuwe Lodge at the end of your trip to allow for travel delays due to rain and weather.
